Are Credit Counseling And Debt Management Only For Stupid People?By: Fritz BlancCredit counseling and debt management are two words that seem to go hand in hand and are two words that most people tend to avoid until it is almost too late. People want to think that they have their finances under control and that debt management is for people who can't control their spendings. The truth to the matter is anyone who uses credit cards or who have bills to pay need some credit counseling and debt management at some point in time! Because one is never too savvy about the latest development on credit card schemes or one can always learn new ways to save money every month. More and more people nowadays are getting into debt, and we are not talking about debt associated with mortgages as in buying a house or debt associated with buying a car due to the necessity of driving to work to earn a living. We are talking about the credit card debt since credit card companies are pressuring staff to sell credit cards therefore it is easier and easier for almost anyone to get a credit card and God only knows the kind of problem that can be directly related to credit cards such as borrowing money at a very high interest rate to pay the credit card which, is not the way to ease your financial situation. These kind of situation can lead to total despair when there is no real solution in sight. One will likely get depressed and some people can really hit deep bottom. As a matter of fact, a few cases of people committing suicide have been reported lately and these cases were directly related to debts getting out of hands. The lure of easy credit is such that I know of people who are not working and own one or more credit cards. If you get into a situation where you desperately need money, it is almost guaranteed that you'll make use of the credit card at your disposal. You know how it is, buy now and think of a way to pay it later! Paying debts is never easy. Something else will always show up when it is time to pay your debts, your car will need repair, you house will need a new roof, the kids will need new shoes and new clothes, etc. It would seems like for every step you take forward, you take two or more backwards when it comes time to get the financial situation in order. If you make your payments on time, regardless of how you do it, you are viewed as a good customer and therefore, not a risk when it comes to additional borrowing. In fact, that can even be a very dangerous situation, you could be taking money from one card to pay another but you may still obtain even more credit. There should be a system in place that can evaluate and see whether a person can afford a loan or credit card before such an offer is thrown into your lap. It is both the lender and borrower responsibility to decide if a loan is to your best advantage or is it going to get you deeper in financial trouble. If you feel that you are trapped in such a financial quagmire, talk to a financial adviser as to the best course of action that you can take to bring you financial situation to a manageable level. Don't be shy to ask for help! Drowning in debt is the same as drowning in 40 feet of water. You won't feel stupid screaming for help if you are drowning in 40 feet of water therefore you should not feel stupid either about asking for help if you are drowning in debt. Call your debt line, financial help line or anyline that can rescue you from drowning in debt today! You'll be glad you did.
