Was your family notorious? Were their horse thieves in your family tree? How many served in the military? Did any of your ancestors bring great honor to your family? Use the world wide web Perhaps one of the most convenient invention in this generation is the computer, where all sorts of information can be found. If you already have the surnames of the people in your family tree, one thing that you can do is to search for the surname. This can show you some of the people that are also doing the same kind of research as you do. Contact possible family members With hundreds and thousands of people with the same surname, it would be really difficult to find someone through phone and internet directories but still it is worth a shot. With today’s technology, communication is faster and less expensive. If you have the patience, you can actually send a message to these people to ask them about their family tree.
