As Bob Marley said "stolen from Africa, brought to America", indeed black people suffered and are still suffering but as Martin Luther talked about the dream we are moving closer to that dream. THE FIGHT AGAINST SLAVERY AND FREEDOM Afro American Ancestry never happened by chance. A vast majority of Africans that compose the Afro American citizenry in the United States have ancestral roots that originated from some 300 miles of the Atlantic coast between the Congo and Gambia rivers in East Africa. Their plight was a never-ending struggle for survival, ever since they were brought in forcibly as slaves to the New World in the Eighteenth and the Nineteenth Centuries. Aside from the impoverished beginnings, they were so treated indiscriminately for their unwanted colors. Black is black, white is white and the traditional Americans abhor any idea in the possibility of race mingling, or combination as a result of intermarriage, which later was incredibly of no avail. Since the compulsory abolition of slavery in 1830 to 1860, racial discrimination was lowered to certain degree and at present intermarriages between white and black has passed the laws in American legislature. After World War II, many Afro Americans from the Caribbean whose ancestors were former slaves of the Dutch, British, and French migrated to the U.S. Since then, and to this day, Afro Americans found a place in American politics (voted or mandated by law), legislature, and a set under the President’s Executive jurisdiction as appointees, or cabinet members. We find them in all levels of America’s citizenry, in society, in business establishments where they flourish as successful entrepreneurs; in writing where they attained freedom of the press just like a full-blooded American. Predominance is in the show business industry where there are many talented singers like the classic old time singer, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis, not to mention many more. The king of Pop Michael Jackson, from a bunch of Afro American family singers, the Jackson 5, suggests proof that indeed, the Afro American heritage is universally accepted not only in the U.S. but globally. It is so difficult to trace the original roots of an Afro American. The saga or exodus of African ancestry way back in the early l8th Century was so complicated and written archives or records are unavailable. They remain to be remembered as traditional mementos rather than documentary. It is heart wrenching to imagine the slaves’ inhuman plight surrounding the slave trade in the early 19th Century. It is incredible to believe that the Afro American in their African-side roots (their ancestors) underwent as victims in slave traffic business. The end results of those infamous sacrifices of the former Africans is the glory attained by their benefactors, now the Afro Americans Community. Families of slaves were transported from one state to the other. Most were planters in the wheat, corn, and mostly in cotton plantations. Chronological history of slavery and revolutionary efforts of several abolitionist leaders happened most from the early 1800’s down to its final compulsory slave emancipation in the late l860’s. All kinds of slaves’ sexes, from children to adults if found involved in their abolition drives were treated like hogs in slave pens, equivalent to prisoners garrisons during wartime. To mention a few of the critical process during the racism period record that have the Southern and Northern Democrats allies. In the legislature, not only is the abolition of slaves is critically banned, but any talk about them was strictly prohibited. Printed materials about such talks were burned, anyone responsible of such action is mobbed. A political leader face an assassination attempts if he agrees to the slave abolition plight of the African slaves. Now what are we Afro-American going to do to make our lives better? We know that by uniting with our own is the only solution whether we like it.
